Controlling transport costs

Backhaul Solutions

Network Operators need maximum flexibility to control costs.  Motorola offers multiple backhaul options including circuit, packet and satellite options to help operators achieve these goals.  Compression and multiplexing techniques used in Motorola’s BTS backhaul increase the capacity of the backhaul and have the potential to reduce reoccurring costs associated with leased lines to the BTSs.

Motorola PTP 100 series Bridges

The Motorola PTP 100 series consist of:

PTP 100 lite: Providing up to 7Mbps in 2.4, 5.1, 5.2, 5.4 and 5.8 Ghz bands
PTP 100 Full: Providing up to 14 Mbps in 2.4, 5.1, 5.1 and 5.8 Ghz bands

Our PTP 100 series bridges make use of Motorola’s proprietary modulation scheme to deliver high-bandwidth across distances of up to 35 miles (56 kilometers). These solutions support both DES and AES for enhanced security and are uniquely suited for delivering consistent throughput in Line-of-Site (LoS) configurations.

Our PTP 100 series bridges come in a full (14 Mbps) and lite (7.5 Mbps) versions. These radios are ideal for line-of-site situations; they are highly reliable, weather resistant and they are compact and rugged in design. The PTP 100 radios produce consistent data rates in the face of interference; there is an available reflector to extend their range and there are options available for solar and wind power. Ideal applications for these wireless bridges are rural or remote locations, campus applications, temporary and emergency systems, video surveillance, tele-medicine, e-learning and banking.

Motorola is a trusted and well known company throughout the world. The company is shifting its focus towards the Broadband wireless arena. Motorola has bough out a company previously known as Orthogon systems to add its well know range of point to point links to Motorola’s portfolio. Orthogon was an industry leader with its products providing true non line off site, extra long range of up to 200 km, and very high throughput up to 300 Mbps.

PTP 400 Range

The Motorola point to point OFDM series bridges offers the first true non line off site, high capacity, carrier’s class radios on the market:

The following point makes these units stand out from the competition:

  • Multiple-Input Multiple-Output (MIMO)
  • Intelligent Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing
  • Advanced Spectrum Management with Intelligent Dynamic Frequency Selection
  • Adaptive Modulation
  • Spatial Diversity
  • Best-in-Class Radios

Choose PTP 400 Series solutions when you need connectivity for challenging near- and non-line-of-sight environments, including deep NLoS deployments and those that span long distances and travel over water. Even in obstructed and high-interference locations, PTP 400 Series solutions succeed more than 99% of the time.

The Motorola point to point range consists of the following:

  • PTP 400 lite: The PTP 400 lite range can provide up to 21 Mbps net throughput and is software upgradeable to the PTP 400 Full version
  • PTP 58400 lite integrated – The unit has an integrated antenna and operates in the 5.8 GHz band.
  • PTP 58400 lite connectorized – The unit has two external connectors to connect to an external dual polarized antenna and operates in the 5.8 GHz band
  • PTP 54400 lite integrated - The unit has an integrated antenna and operates in the 5.4 GHz band.
  • PTP 54400 lite connectorized - The unit has two external connectors to connect to an external dual polarized antenna and operates in the 5.4 GHz band
  • 2 PTP 400 full: The PTP 400 Full range can provide up to 42 Mbps net throughput.
  • PTP 58400 Full integrated : 5.8 GHz band
  • PTP 58400 Full connectorized : 5.8 GHz band
  • PTP 54400 Full integrated : 5.4 GHz band
