Job Description

The Project Engineer is responsible for the management, technical activities and coordination of all assigned projects. He/she plans, schedules, coordinates and conducts project tasks. He/she looks after the engineering work as well as monitoring work for compliance to applicable standards and to accepted practices.

His/her responsibilities will include:

  • Establish and maintaining clear communication between all stake holders (customers, resources and the business)
  • Develop, maintain and coordinate project plan by monitoring project progress and resolve project related issues.
  • Controls project costs by approving expenditures; administering contracts and budgets in a cost-effective manner.
  • Maintains safe and healthy working environment by enforcing procedures, rules, regulations and strictly adhering to safety guidelines and OHS requirements
  • Prepares project status reports by collecting, analysing, and summarizing information and trends
  • Manages and maintains the vehicle, toolset, equipment and PPE to the highest possible standards and is responsible for damages or losses of the aforementioned due to any form of negligence.
Qualifications Required
  • Prince2 or Project Management discipline
  • At least 3 years’ experience in IT related projects
  • Basic RF/ Microwave and Networking knowledge
  • Excellent communication/presentation skills must be able to lead in presentation, teamwork and project management to solve customer issues in a cross-functional global organization
  • Entrepreneurial skilland a good understanding of business
  • Knowledge of Telecommunications market
  • Work exposure to Mining environment will be beneficial

Title Wireless Engineer

Job Description

Deployment, configuration and troubleshooting of wireless & cabled networks and wireless & cabled network equipment as well as team supervision.

1.  Conducts outdoor and indoor Wifi, 2-way radio, and RF signal strength, path, facility and site surveys using signal test equipment and software. Must prove proficiency in establishing the existence of visual line-of-sight (LOS).

2. Reviews installation specifications, building owner requirements, signal sources (WiFi or other wireless equipment, and tower locations), manufacturer’s instructions, cable and power limitations, and government ordinances to determine and evaluate installation sites.

3. Cables, assembles, installs, configures, and commissions a variety of radio and related equipment.

4. Climbs towers, ladders or other structures to install equipment. Orients antenna(s) to direction required signal path.

5. Installs coverage units and access points in appropriate locations according to evaluated signal coverage requirements.

6. Tests installed systems for conformance to specifications and evaluates reception. Manages customer test and acceptance on small and medium jobs.

7. Ensures that RFQ and Sign-Off documentation is effectively completed and submitted, as required.

8. Manages and maintains the vehicle, toolset, equipment and PPE to the highest possible standards and is responsible for damages or losses of the aforementioned due to any form of negligence.

9. Keeps workplace clean and organized. Submits all reports in a timely fashion.

10. Strictly adheres to safety guidelines and OHS requirements.
